Christine Fife BVM&S MRCVS – Owner and Veterinary Surgeon
After qualifying from Edinburgh University, Christine spent several years in mixed farm, small animal and specialist equine practices across the UK and abroad also setting up and running the veterinary unit of a rescue centre. She has always been a keen horse rider, is interested in and has competed in all aspects of horse riding, from dressage, show-jumping and eventing, to endurance and driving. Christine has in addition to a young family at home also got many animals at home, including horses, sheep, dogs, cats and farm birds! She thrives on continuously evolving the practice for the needs of her patients and clients. She understands how much a pet means to an owner, but also how important it is to anybody with an illness to be understood and cared for.
Doreen Maitland BVSc (Hons) GPCertEqp MRCVS – Veterinary Surgeon
After qualifying from University of Queensland, Australia, Doreen has spent several years in both mixed, small and equine practice, both here in the UK and in Australia. Doreen is now working with us part-time following a double maternity leave, but still enjoys travelling, horse-riding and skiing around her time with us. She thoroughly enjoys working up any cases in her quiet thorough way, making sure her patients are well cared for!
Anita Minshull RVN
Anita has just joined us as senior veterinary nurse after returning from working in New Zealand for nearly a year! She had previously qualified through the Lynwood school and lives locally, hoping to add both a dog and a horse to her family! She is a warm hearted person, always ensuring the welfare needs of her patients!
Sasha Watson – Student Veterinary Nurse
Sasha started to fulfil her ambition of becoming a veterinary nurse by joining our team in the Autumn of 2016. Sasha is enjoying learning about all aspects of veterinary nursing and is thoroughly enjoying studying to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Lynwood School of Veterinary Nursing. When not at work she is kept fully occupied by her 5 year old ‘Larger-Than-Life-Lurcher’, learning a lot about the excitements and tribulations of being a per owner!
Charlotte Crabb – Nursing Assistant
Charlotte joined us in August 2017 after leaving Gillingham School to start fulfilling her dream of becoming a veterinary nurse. Charlotte enjoys spending time caring for and riding her cob, Nancy, and looking after her rabbits at home. She has just enrolled with the RVC for a degree course and will be away during her block teaching!
Autumn Rowe- Kennel assistant
Autumn has been doing work experience with us doing her Animal Management Diploma at Kingston Maurward, and has now joined us full time as a kennel assistant. She loves all animals and is keen to widen her knowledge, and has already started adding more pets to her home!
Penny Steele – Receptionist
Penny moved to Sturminster in 2007 and has embraced the local community and is a familiar face to many locally. She joined our team in January 2014 and quickly fitted in with us! Penny works during the mornings with us, leaving her free to enjoy her full house with her two cats and her Bearded Collie in the afternoons!
Katie Haime ANA – Receptionist
Katie is a familiar face to many clients as she has recently re-joined our team after taking a break to have her son. She is enjoying coming back to work part time, as whilst at home she is kept busy with her toddler and springer spaniel!
